The short version: this site collects as close to nothing as a website can.
- No accounts, no forms, no newsletter. You can't give us personal data here even if you try.
- No cookies from us. This site sets no cookies of its own, and never has.
- An optional booking widget, off by default. Journal articles offer a GetYourGuide booking panel showing live prices and availability. It is third-party code in a third-party frame, and it sets GetYourGuide's own cookies — so nothing of theirs loads unless you ask for it. Until you click “Show live prices”, the page shows a plain card and makes no request to GetYourGuide. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, so declining stores nothing on their side either. You can change your mind by clearing this site's local storage.
- Anonymous visit statistics. We count visits with PostHog, hosted in the EU and loaded through this site's own domain. It stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage to tell repeat visits apart, and records the pages you view, the referring site, your device type and your approximate location (country level, from your IP address). We never learn who you are, and the data is not shared with advertisers or used to follow you around the web.
- Hosting logs. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses transiently to deliver pages and prevent abuse, as any host does. We don't receive or store them.
- Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which involves your browser requesting font files from Google's servers.
- Outbound links. If you follow a link to a booking platform (for example GetYourGuide) or an official operator, that site's own privacy policy applies from the moment you land on it. The same is true of the booking widget above, from the moment you choose to load it. Affiliate links may include a referral identifier so the platform knows the visit came from here — it contains nothing about you. See the affiliate disclosure.
